Electric gripping systems for industrial automation.
The nititec G-VAC replaces pneumatic vacuum grippers with a fully electric solution – no compressor, no Venturi nozzles, and no compressed air infrastructure.
Less energy. Less plant complexity. More design freedom.
The problem with compressed air
Most vacuum grippers in industry operate using compressed air.
This means compressors, Venturi nozzles, valves, and hoses. A complex infrastructure just for gripping a single component.
compressed air belongs simultaneously to the most expensive forms of energy in production. Leaks, continuous consumption, and maintenance drive energy and operating costs up.
Nevertheless, this principle has been considered standard for decades.
The technology
The G-VAC generates vacuum electrically – directly within the gripper.
Unlike classic solutions with Venturi nozzles or integrated vacuum pumps, the G-VAC PS completely without compressed air system and without a pump. Australia.
Inside, shape memory actuators made of nickel-titanium are working. These micrometer-thin wires undergo a minimal change in length when electrically activated, mechanically generating the vacuum.
No compressed air systrem. No pump.
No compressor
No Venturi nozzles
No compressed air lines
No vacuum pump
Just one electrical connection.
Less energy. Less infrastructure. More safety.
The elimination of compressed air fundamentally changes the design of automation systems.
Simpler system architecture
No compressor, no valves, no compressed air lines.
Virtually no energy costs
In real-world applications with multiple grippers, the energy costs of compressed air systems—which would otherwise run into the four- to five-digit range—are reduced to just a few euros in electricity costs per year.
High operational reliability
Fewer components mean fewer potential sources of error and less maintenance costs.
Predictive maintenance instead of leak detection
Integrated sensors continuously send status data to the PLC for immediate anomaly detection without hidden leaks.
Cleanroom-compatible
No blow-off, no air turbulence – minimizes particle movement and supports stable cleanroom conditions.
Gripping solutions reimagined
With the G-VAC, we are developing a new generation of electric gripping systems for industrial automation.
Our current vacuum grippers already cover a wide range of applications – from smooth, solid components to flexible and porous materials.
For the G-VAC PS (for smooth, dense surfaces):
Light as a feather and compact thanks to a high-tech drive inside, for the safe handling of smooth and solid workpieces made of metal, glass, or plastic
For the G-VAC AS (for porous or flexible materials):
Extremely powerful and fast vacuum generation for absolutely secure holding of flexible or porous materials such as cardboard, wood, or films.
