The <strong>G-VAC PS<\/strong> is not intended to replace these solutions across the board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The approach is more targeted: The <strong>G-VAC PS<\/strong> complements existing solutions in situations where compressed air in gripping and handling processes results in energy consumption, infrastructure requirements, noise, maintenance, or complexity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The gripper operates on 24 V, without compressed air, without a central vacuum infrastructure, and without a local vacuum pump.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This provides automotive manufacturing companies with an additional technology option for applications where pneumatic-free, compact, and energy-efficient automation concepts are to be evaluated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What does this mean?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In many automotive facilities, the robot is electric.<br>However, the gripper environment is often still pneumatic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This means additional infrastructure, hoses, valves, compressed air generation, energy losses, noise, and maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>G-VAC PS<\/strong> eliminates this component in suitable vacuum gripping applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For customers, this can mean:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>lower energy consumption<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>less compressed air infrastructure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>reduced noise<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>simpler mounting on the robot arm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>fewer sources of maintenance and leaks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a concrete contribution to eliminating expensive compressed air in production<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A technology option for internal approval processes and future plant designs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technology: What Sets the G-VAC PS Apart<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video image-left\"><video height=\"1072\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 608 \/ 1072;\" width=\"608\" autoplay loop muted src=\"http:\/\/nititec-gripper.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/gewichtsclip-hochrunter.mp4\" playsinline><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>G-VAC PS<\/strong> is not a traditional vacuum gripper.<br>Nor is it an electric vacuum pump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>G-VAC PS<\/strong> is a pneumatic-free, passive vacuum gripper for smooth and non-porous surfaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The vacuum is generated and maintained mechanically directly at the suction point. Electrical energy is required only for switching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The real technological breakthrough lies in the SMA drive:<\/strong>The movement within the gripper is generated by shape-memory actuators made of nickel-titanium (NiTi). These so-called shape-memory alloys change their length when electrically activated, thereby enabling new design principles for gripping systems. This drive offers an exceptionally high energy density, allowing for an extremely small, lightweight design. The benefit lies in suitable applications where compressed air needs to be specifically reduced or eliminated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>G-VAC PS <\/strong>is an additional technology option for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>pneumatic-free automation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>lower operating costs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>compact robot cells<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>energy-efficient gripping<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>clean or quiet handling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>alternatives to compressed air<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>in-house technology testing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>technology validation for future plant concepts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pilot applications in manufacturing, assembly, or body shop operations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This means the <strong>G-VAC PS<\/strong> can be used in areas where compressed air is still taken for granted today but is increasingly being questioned from an energy, maintenance, or sustainability perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Industrial Reference<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>G-VAC PS<\/strong> is already being evaluated and used in industrial applications, including in the automotive sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A successful laboratory test was conducted with a German commercial vehicle manufacturer in the body-in-white sector.
